Monkstown Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 70 golf course located in Parkgarriff, Monkstown, Co. Cork.〔http://www.monkstowngolfclub.com/〕 It was founded in 1908 as a 9-hole course. The course was expanded in 1971 to an 18-hole course. The course is built around Monkstown Castle which was built in 1636 and served as the clubhouse from 1908 until the 1971 when the building fell into disrepair.
